Your Life Needs a Strategy official book website by Sino Soft — homepage showing the book cover, pre-order links, strategy assessment and protagonist stories on a responsive layout

Sino Soft designed and built the official website for Your Life Needs a Strategy, the book by Martin Reeves, Christian Stadler, Julia Hautz and Hamad Buamim, with an interactive strategy assessment, rich storytelling pages and full editorial control for the authors’ team.

🎯 The Challenge

Your Life Needs a Strategy: How to Increase Your Odds of Doing Extraordinary Things is written by four authors across continents, and it speaks to readers worldwide. Its website had to do much more than announce a book. It had to carry the book’s ideas, keep a distinguished and detail-conscious team of authors proud of how it looked, and keep working long after launch.

Several demands came together:

First, the design had to be exact. The authors’ team reviewed the site closely, and every layout, hero image, colour, hover state and line of copy had to match what they had approved.

Second, the site had to be more than pages. Readers needed an interactive way to explore their own strategy, along with real stories of people who applied the ideas, shown through photos, video and text.

Third, it served an international audience, so privacy, consent and data protection had to be handled properly from day one.

Finally, the authors’ team had to be able to add stories, change quotes, swap links and upload new material themselves, without waiting for a developer.

💡 Our Solution

Sino Soft built the site as a fully custom, hand-crafted website, with no page builders and no ready-made templates. It follows the approved design exactly and puts every piece of content under the authors’ control.

Key deliverables included:

·        Interactive strategy assessment — a guided self-test that takes readers through a series of questions and returns a personalised result with tailored advice, so visitors leave with something useful rather than just information

·        Protagonist and celebrity stories — a rich storytelling section with a card for each person, individual story pages, photo galleries with credits, and embedded video

·        Smart video presentation — YouTube videos are added by pasting a link; if a video’s own thumbnail is missing, a branded default appears so the pages never look unfinished

·        Quotes placed where you choose — every endorsement can be assigned to the homepage hero, the homepage slider or the footer of specific pages with simple tick boxes

·        Articles, podcasts and events — one place for press coverage, podcast appearances and events, each manageable on its own

·        Forms that report back — newsletter sign-up, contact and survey submissions are saved securely, sent by e-mail to the people the authors choose, and acknowledged to the reader

·        Chapter One delivery — new subscribers get the free first chapter opened right on the site; when the book is updated, the team replaces the file in seconds

·        Privacy built in — a consent banner, privacy-respecting video embedding, and Terms of Use, Privacy and Cookie pages written to meet EU data protection (GDPR) standards

·        Pre-order links under the team’s control — retailer links are managed in one place and update across the whole site

·        Seamless content migration — every approved page, story, quote and picture was moved into the new system by an automated routine, with nothing re-typed by hand

·        Search visibility — page-level descriptions and clean web addresses, with redirects from the old links so nothing breaks

📈 Results

·        Approved design preserved exactly — the finished site matches the signed-off design, checked page by page

·        Full editorial independence — the authors’ team manages stories, quotes, links, videos and downloads without developer help

·        Content complete at go-live — all stories, quotes, authors, events, articles and pictures arrived intact

·        Reader engagement built in — the strategy assessment gives visitors a reason to stay, finish and share

·        Privacy-ready for a global audience — consent, data handling and legal pages are in place for readers in the EU and beyond

·        Quick to maintain — a clear user manual lets any team member update the site confidently

When the team behind Your Life Needs a Strategy approached Sino Soft, the aim was simple to state and demanding to deliver: give a serious book a website as thoughtful as the book itself, and make sure the authors could run it without us.

The starting point was a carefully reviewed design. The authors and their team gave feedback with the eye of people who care about every detail, and the build was shaped by that care. Instead of adapting a ready-made template, we built the site by hand so that the approved design could be reproduced exactly, from the spacing of a headline to the way a button changes color when you hover over it.

The heart of the site is the strategy assessment. Rather than a static page about strategy, visitors get a short guided experience that helps them see where they stand and what to do next. It turns a reader into a participant, and it gives the authors insight into how their audience thinks, with results the team can review in the background.

Alongside it sits a growing library of stories: people from business, science and the arts whose journeys illustrate the book’s ideas. Each has its own page, with photos, credits and video. Videos are added by pasting a link, and if a thumbnail is ever missing, a branded fallback appears instead. The team can also decide which quote appears where, with tick boxes for the homepage and for the footer of each section, so the site’s voice can change as new endorsements arrive.

Because the readership is international, privacy was part of the design from the first day. Visitors are asked for consent before third-party content loads, forms collect only what they need, and clear legal pages explain how data is handled. When someone subscribes for Chapter One, the chapter opens on the site straight away, and the team can swap in a new version whenever the book is updated.

Finally, we made sure the site could be handed over properly. A step-by-step manual covers every routine task, and the content moved into the new system through an automated routine, so the team starts with a complete, working site rather than an empty one.

For Sino Soft, this project shows what we do best: understand a brief, respect the details a client cares about, and deliver a site that works for readers and for the people who run it.
